Falls Buffet @ Snoqualmie Casino

If you like crabs and prime rib, this is the buffet for you folks.  Pretty Sis and I went down for a visit to our lovely aunt and uncle down in the States.  Now when my parents went down a couple times ago aunt and uncle had taken them to the Snoqualmie Casino for their buffet.  And my parents had raved about it since.  Now it was our chance to give it a try.

Let me just show you a few pictures.

Falls Buffet: Lobster tail and Prime rib

Really, I think I could just shown you the pictures and be it with this post.  Aren’t they drool-inducing?  An unlimited mountain of dungeness crab and prime rib, plus a lobster tail per person.  All for $28.95USD on Saturday evenings.  Such a deal!

And boy those were big crab legs.  I wish I could’ve stomached more but I was only able to down one whole crab.  I blame the deliciously moist and well-seasoned prime rib for that!  I had two slices (only….=()

As for the lobster tail, it was also prepared very well.  It was a pretty big portion but it was seasoned quite salty, so that was the only down-side to it.  Otherwise it was moist and succulent.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill @ Alderwood Mall

Romano's Macaroni Grill exterior

On a recent trip to Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, we decided to have “lunch” (it was 3pm) at Romano’s Macaroni Grill.  Some of you may be familiar with this name as it is a franchised restaurant, and locally they have a location in Vancouver also.

Romano's Macaroni Grill patio

It was a particularly warm day so we decided to sit outside beside the fireplace.  This location is very well decorated.  The inner dining room was had great ambiance.  Our party kept saying how we felt like we were actually in Europe haha!

Romano's Macaroni Grill Sampler

So we decided to order 3 small appetizer-type things to share.  First up was the Romano’s Sampler ($10.99)which consisted of Tomato Bruschetta, Mozzarella Fritta and Calamari Fritti served with arrabbiata sauce (which tasted like an awesome marinara sauce).

All items in this dish was fabulous.  The calamari actually tasted like real food (not tasteless, bland and spongy).  The Mozzarella Fritta was really stretchy and the batter wasn’t too hard but crispy.  The Bruschetta was very cute.  It had tiny tomatoes sliced and dressed with garlic.  We were very satisfied with this.

Nordstrom’s ebar (Espresso Bar)

Nordstrom's ebar

Whenever Boyfriend and I go to Lynnwood, if we happen to go to Alderwood Mall where there’s a Nordstrom, I have to get something from their ebar.

It’s much like Starbucks/Blenz/Second Cup.  The prices are similar, even the layout is similar.  My favorite drink here is their Italian Soda which comes with cream and whipped cream.  Lately I’ve been omitting the whip for obvious reasons, but I always have to have the half-and-half in it.

Nordstrom's ebar: Pomegranate Lemonade and Peach Italian Soda

This time though, I didn’t get the Italian Soda.  Instead, I got the Pomegranate Lemonade while Boyfriend got the Peach Italian Soda (I think it’s cuz he knows I like it).  The lemonade was alright.  It was refreshing after a day of shopping and light, slightly tart.  But the italian soda was AWESOME.  The peach syrup was amazingly good, almost like eating a real peach.  I was really happy with Boyfriend’s choice.  Usually when I order this I get the Raspberry flavor but I think this will be my new favorite.

Mallard Ice Cream

Wendy and I spent another day in the Evergreen State looking for pre-Black Friday sales.  It was a fun filled day with good food and plenty of shopping gifts for ourselves.  To wrap it all up, we took the exit on 253 to give Mallard a try.  Wendy actually suggested it twice before but we either were just too filled from food before or I was in too much of a hurry to get home. This time, I knew were were destined for some dairy love.

Located in downtown Bellingham, the parking was quite easy around 9PM.  Strangely enough, there were plenty of parked cars in the downtown area at a time like this….Anyways, I digress…

The internal view.  This place had a very college campus feel.  There were a lot of young people in their 20s enjoying their time here.  I didn’t expect a place like this in the middle of Bellingham.  It was purely a positive surprise.

Chapinlandia Guatemalan Restaurant & Bakery – CLOSED

Chapinlandia Guatemalan

Wendy and I really enjoy coming to Washington States many times a year.  One is to get away from the city, and more importantly, we love the deals that can be found at the malls and outlets!  We also get to try things that are not available back home as well.  This time, we went out of our well to visit Chapinlandia Guatemalan.  It is located in downtown Renton which seems to be under development as there are some new buildings that have been erected quite recently.  Let’s hope this development continues to spawn new places for us to try.

Chapinlandia Guatemalan

Right in the corner of the street.  Pretty easy to find (even easier with a GPS).

We had to park in the street behind the restaurant.   It was early evening, the store was quiet and we didn’t have a problem finding a spot.  The area was peaceful and the houses seem quite new.  A safe place to park.  Again, this is the heart of Downtown Renton.
